Matt Strassberg, Green Mountain Environmental Resolutions
Matt Strassberg is the founding director of GMER. He has over 20 years experience in environmental law, including 6 years with the Vermont Environmental Board; administrator of the Act 250 program from its inception in 1970 until 2005. Matt Strassberg is a trained mediator and has experience designing mediation programs with the Vermont Environmental Board. His experience includes Superfund mediations at the Environmental Protection Agency with hundreds of parties as well as mediating land use disputes in Vermont.
Matt Strassberg is an attorney admitted to practice in Vermont and Massachusetts. He is on the Advisory Committee of the Vermont Environmental Court’s Mediation Program and is listed on the Environmental Court’s Mediation Roster. He has made numerous presentations on environmental and land use mediation at seminars and conferences. He also works as a Senior Consultant with the Consensus Building Institute in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

New England Environmental Policy Center
The New England Environmental Policy Center (NEEPC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that collaborates with a diversity of stakeholders in a non-partisan manner in the public and private sector in an effort to clarify complex problems that touch on both science and policy. NEEPC is based in North Ferrisburgh, Vermont. Dr. Jean Richardson is the president of NEEPC . Dr. Richardson is a Professor Emerita at UVM, Department of Environmental Studies, Natural Resources, and Geography. Dr. Richardson consults with GMER on selected projects.
Consensus Building Institute
The Consensus Building Institute (CBI) has been providing a variety of consensus building services to a range of clients involved in complex disputes since 1992. Building on the Mutual Gains Approach to negotiation developed at the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School, CBI offers conflict management assistance, negotiation training, advice on dispute systems design, and evaluative research to public agencies, corporate clients, and non-governmental agencies on five continents. Founding director, Lawrence Susskind and managing director, Patrick Field of CBI work with GMER designing consensus building programs for environmental and land use disputes.
